Eating for One? (By: Kimberly A. Tessmer, RD LD)
Is it a table for one? It may seem like a lot of effort to plan a meal for just yourself but it can be worth it in the long run. Plan your meals ahead of time and cook dishes that you can freeze for later or that you can heat up easily for the next night. Don't let meals for one become an excuse for eating out or ordering out too much. That can lead to too many calories and extra weight. Purchase smaller quantities of food and cut recipes in half. Make mealtime special and set the table, light some candles and add some flowers! You deserve it and so does your health! |

Stress Causing Problems? (By: Kimberly A. Tessmer, RD LD)
Stress can sometimes be the culprit of stomach cramps and indigestion without us even realizing it! Managing what you eat can sometimes help to reduce these symptoms. Try to eat small, frequent meals and watch your intake of high-fat and fried foods. Try avoiding or limiting caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods. In addition, eat foods that are rich in fiber such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes and drink plenty of water! And don't forget your exercise, which can be a big help in decreasing stress levels. If your symptoms persist see your doctor!
